Employment Exchange ( Compulsory Notification Of Vacancies) Act 1959

Compulsory Notifications of vacancies to the employment exchange is required under this act by an employer. Although notification of vacancy is compulsory but selection of employees still rest with employers who are free to call on other sources.

The employer in every establishment in Private Sector or Establishment shall furnish such information for return regarding vacancies occurred or who occur to the local employment exchange in the format of Notification of Vacancies every month.

The employers should submit Quarterly Return in ER-I to the Employment Exchange of the jurisdiction. Similarly Employer should submit BI-ennial return in ER-II once in two years.

Any employer contravening of Sec (1)or (2) will be levied fine Failure to notify vacancies will be an offence and Employer will be penalised with fine
